I've got a friend who hosts thousands of sites per box using a full
class C per box. While, yes, he's using faster systems than RaQs, I
don't see your point...
Installing multiple IP#s on a Windows box installs virtual NICs as well;
only the Interface is different.

I believe you. But I think your problems are keeping you from seeing
the reality. Thousands of people are very happy using Cobalt boxes to
do the things you're saying it just can't do.

Nope not at all. The database is only involved during gui operations.
I've got a customer who had a totally destroyed database. Domain names
pointing to non-existing site numbers, etc., etc. Finally fixed it
early today. Before we did, for weeks, every site ran fine, email,
cgis, everything. The only thing that didn't work was the gui.

That's not the reason they went out of business. Believe it or not. I
knew the brothers personally. Sounds like you had problems with their
hardware, though.
I don't see anyone telling you that you need to run on Cobalt. If you
don't like them, don't buy them. If you've already bought them, sell
them; lots of us will be glad to make you an offer.
If you'd like an offer from me, let me know the specs on what you've
got.
