Yes, it's clear that you're the same Paul.  Odd to see your new
domain at L3, however. ;-)

Here's the deal.  One opens an FTP connection to a given IP
address.  There's no "rcpt to: user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx" or "GET
http://www.wherever.tld/ HTTP/1.1" intelligence a la SMTP or HTTP
to specify virtual domains.

Inability to do name-based FTP on a single IP is due to the FTP
protocol.  The OS that one chooses matters not.  Sorry, take the
troll food elsewhere.

Use one IP per domain.  Yes, ProFTPD will handle this nicely.

If you _insist_ on using one IP, you can always use port
perversion, but that's ugly.  Standards exist for a reason, and
many firewalls will block services on non-standard ports.
