Try
chkconfig --level 2345 atalk on
this will get atalk to init on boot.
Then run /etc/rc.d/init.d/atalk status (check to see if riunning)
then run /etc/rc.d/init.d/atalk start (restart or stop)
Cobalt calls it atalk although I believe it is indeed netatalk;
Try it if it don't eork then try and something else.

To back out of it
chkconfig --level 2345 atalk off
/etc/rc.d/init.d/atalk stop
