[cobalt-users] Raq4: Broken .htaccess only for /home/sites/home/web

I had Cobalt Professional Services build me a special set of rpms for
Apache 1.3.20 as we're using auth_dbm to authenticate one of our
large sites against a dbm-style database. As far as I can tell, the
rpms installed without a hitch and work properly except for one tiny
little thing:
I can't have PAM or non-PAM-authenticated directories
/home/sites/home/ anymore. Regular htaccess files work fine in
other domains on the Raq. It just seems to be the
/home/sites/home/web directory.
The administration server is working correctly.
I had a look in access.cnf, but I didn't see anything amiss in there.
Any ideas on where to start looking?
Thanks,
Michelle
