Hi Sean,
The hotmail.com not found is perhaps a transiant error
(stuff happens, even at hotmail) or it's indicative of a shakey DNS
setup. For now I suggest ignoring this particular error and going on
to the one that can be fixed then seeing what happens.
The error message above tells me that the originator of the
message tried to send that message through (your) server but that
they either did not check their mail first or you don't have POP
before SMTP activated on the server.
While on the control panel, click "Control Panel" then click
on the Email Server "Parameters" link and make sure you have the POP
before SMTP checkbox checked.
If you don't that might fix the problem. I say 'might' as
the senders ISP could be blocking them - this is common in today's
enviornment. If you do have it checked, and the senders ISP is not
blocking port 25, then the problem is the sender is using Outlook
which tries to send messages before checking for new messages. The
result is that Outlook users have to click the send button again a
moment or two after they get the can't send error.
The best solution may very well be to tell the sender to
use their ISP's mail server.
Peace be with you,
Brent Sims
