Then maybe you should hire someone to do it for you. If you take your time
and follow the instructions closely, they serve as a pretty good guide, but
this is complicated and may be beyond the scope of a unix/raq newbie.

Not exactly. If you have MySQL already, you can ignore those instructions.
But these instructions call for compiling PHP into the Apache binary, so you
have to have the Apache source tarball if you want to install PHP this way.
You could install PHP as a DSO which wouldn't require recompiling Apache. I
don't really have any experience with that so you'll have to read the docs
at www.php.net or try searching the user archives.

I'm not sure. If you're up on the patches, then I think glibc was updated
already. Perhaps I should change the instructions if anyone can confirm
this.

I think this bug has been fixed in the most recent version of PHP. If so,
you can ignore that.
