The way I did it is Qube2 (primary eth, sec not used) and workstations
and router are all on the same LAN. I am using the router for
connecting to ISP (automatically) and DHCP and NAT (and would
eventually use it for Firewall if mine had these capabilities). QUbe
is used for SMTP, POP, WEB, DNS, FTP, all these functions for internal
usage (ie I am not hosting a web site for the world to see, ISDN is
not meant for that, you would need at least a permanent IP address
although dynamic DNS could handle that). Using primary and secondary
ethernet on the Qube makes sense if you use NAT and DHCP and Firewall
on the Qube (so primary to LAN providing DHCP and NAT, secondary to
Internet using the ISP address, dynamic or static). (use fixed width
font to see my ASCII art.. :-)

Also if you use your router as DHCP, I recommend having a fixed LAN IP
address for the Qube (you have to make a reservation in config for the
DHCP). Gateway is the LAN address of the router, WAN address is
provided by the ISP you are dialing into.
HTH.
