Establish a shell session as root, then cd to /etc/locks. Remove all
files in that directory except one named 'monitor'.

Then run 'pwck' and 'grpck' to clean up inconsistencies with the
/etc/passwd and /etc/groups files.  Follow directions each utility
presents to resolve duplicates, missing info, etc.

Then you should be ok to delete more sites.
