Subject: [cobalt-users] AV Engine Recommendations
I am researching implementation of a virus scanner for e-mail for use on our
Cobalt RAQ4 e-mail gateways. In the process I would like to detect a large
portion of spam passing through it. Eventually want to provide secure
corporate email accounts. Have searched through the archives and seen few
posts relating to this.
Have looked at many options that look good...
Mailscanner http://www.sng.ecs.soton.ac.uk/mailscanner/
Amavis http://www.amavis.org/
I have been looking into a variety of engines as engines recommended for use
with amavis or mailscanner: Network Associates Virus Scan, DrSolomon
(obsolete), H+BEDV AntiVir/X, Sophos Sweep, Kaspersky Lab AntiViral Toolkit
Pro (AVP), CyberSoft VFind, Trend Micro FileScanner, CAI InoculateIT,
F-Secure Inc. (former DataFellows) F-Secure AV;
Found them all to be quite expensive...
Anyone have any recommendations for a good inexpensive (or better yet free)
AV Engine that works well on a RAQ? Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Best regards,
