RE: [cobalt-users] Setting up a DNS Server

Hi!

http://pkg.nl.cobalt.com/howto/cobalt_dns_howto.shtml

Well, ehm, yes. It *does* get you started, but makes you miss a lot of valid (non Cobalt specific) points that, luckily, are to be found elsewhere. (Of course, Cobalt is in the business of selling and supporting appliances, so the above document is a *bonus* and not a feature. As such, it suffices.)

For instance:
http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/DNS-HOWTO.html # essential reading!
http://www.acmebw.com/askmrdns/ # AFAIK, it is now unmaintained, but still useful
http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/dns4/ # The Book
news:comp.protocols.dns.bind # does *anybody* use usenet these days? ;-)

Good luck... Nico
