I'm no expert myself but I have managed to keep a few RaQ's up and running
with practically no downtime and no security problems (to my knowledge).
Try this:
1. Apply the RaQ4 patches in the appropriate order
2. Install SSH and disable telnet (try http://pkg.nl.cobalt.com)
3. If you're going to leave FTP running constantly, consider changing the
port #.
4. Install PortSentry & LogCheck (check the archives)
5. Portscan your machines and research all your open ports, disable any
you do not need.
I'm sure there are many other good ideas, I'm a bit of a newbie myself.
best,
Brad
