Hello!
I'm having my RaQ4 restored to a factory fresh state today and I was
wondering if there is a way to generate an ISO image or images of the clean
install remotely via telnet so I can burn a copy of my machine here on my
dual-boot Win2000 Pro / RedHat 7.2 box?
Also, I figured out last night that the machine has 3 partitions, /, /var/,
and /home. Is it good policy to install applications in the /home
partition? I suppose that it doesn't matter, but I'm not sure.. so I'm
asking.
Where is the /dev/hda2/ partition on a RaQ4? Root is hda1, /var is hda3 and
/home is hda4. Perhaps hda2 is another 80 GB Cobalt isn't telling anyone
about? <j/k>
Is there a way to mirror the RaQ4 OS on my home machine? I have plenty of
unused partition space. What version of RedHat is it? I thought I saw some
valinux do-dads splattered in there someplace.
Is there a program that can run the filesystem and save a visual display of
it, with perhaps permissions, and save it to a file?
Is it possible to run a linux utility like fips for DOS that will enlarge
the root partition on a Cobalt? I don't need all the /home space as I use
the server for my own purposes. I wouldn't mind stealing a little /home to
feed /.
Thanks!
