actually, your predecessors were just following the instructions
provided by cobalt. in the manual it specifically tells you to plug the
lan into the primary interface (i.e., eth0) and the internet gateway or
modem into the secondary interface (i.e., eth1). although this won't
help you with your licensing issues, it may shed some light on why your
qube is set up the way it is.
