[cobalt-users] Qube3 and external modem

Hi Guys,

Normally I don't expose a Qube3 directly to the internet I stick them behind
some other device, unfortunately the gateway device failed on Saturday so
the only interim solution was to attach an external modem directly to the
Qube3 and use it as the Gateway for the LAN.

The external modem is working fine, the Qube3 can see the internet and the
internet can see the Qube3, but none of the internal machines appear to have
access to the internet (via the Qube3).

All the client machines use the Qube3 for DHCP so I altered to "Gateway"
field so they'd use the Qube3 instead of the previous gateway. IP
Masquerading is enabled ... it should work, but it doesn't.

The client workstations used to access the internet just fine so provided
they have picked up the new gateway address they should continue to work so
I think there is an issue with Qube3 config.

I have not tried this with a Qube3, so I don't know if it works. Anyone
else successfully used a Qube3 as an internet gateway when the internet
connection is via an external modem?

Cheers, Malcolm
