I have a friend who codes commercially for just such markets (at least he
does while the company keeps hiving off roles to the new cheapo base in
India...) and he has as much as said to me that .NET *is* the writing on the
wall, so much so that to remain effectively employed in 5 years time he
feels staying abreast of it is a necessity rather than an option.
