Re: [cobalt-users] X window on a Raq4i?

Considering the way that the RaQ4i's are set up, I don't believe it's a
possibility. But, i'd love it for someone to prove me wrong. The reason
I don't believe it's a possibility because the / partition (that holds
/usr) is always ~ 75% or so full after a complete restore from CD. So, I
don't know if there is enough room on that partition to install X
Windows. However, you could symlink /usr/X11R6 to /home/X11R6 and that
should be more than enough space to install X Windows. But, again, since
the RaQ is only a *server* appliance, I don't think it has a video card
in it either. So, that may be a problem. Cobalt tech. guys, any ideas?
I'd love to attempt this to see if it would actually work, but don't
have any RaQ's I could test it on here in front of my. NOTE: For those
concerned about the warranty, it would probbably void the warranty if
you tried this. So, do it only if you have the attitude that you don't
care about whatever warranty Cobalt does give you, which, these days is
not much. So, good luck and happy hunting.
