I think the red light just means there's no more allotted space to write
files to -- i.e., if you had forums running, for example, and someone posted
a new message, the machine doesn't think it has space to write the files, so
it would return a blank message page. Or more emails wouldn't make it, etc.
If I'm mistaken about red, surely someone will clarify, and thank you.
