Thanks for the link Dave,

I managed to find out that before asking (did what research I could) but 
damned if I can find anything on why in hell those files would be getting 
created on the RaQ4... though I have read where others are seeing it too.

Easy (and paranoid) explanation is that someone is in the box compiling 
files and creating the damn things in the process..

Less easy to explain (and hopefully what it is) is that the box is doing 
something or... something I'm doing is doing something that is creating 
them..

No misbehavior from the box other than this and it is firmly firewalled and 
all the other general stuff..

?? Anyone else any ideas? Does anyone else see anything when they do a 
locate gmon.out ??
