Hi,
Thanks for getting into this.
Its verry simpel though.
I have 2 raqs with 200 + 200 domains running
The prim dns server on raq1 is 62.58.18.130
Vhosts have 62.58.18.131 to 133
The backbone provider stops his providing, so I must go to someone else.
I can do that, but they give me a CLASS C ip range (195.*.*.*)
Now I can delete every zonefile in the raqs, and recreate via GUI a new
zonefile with the GOOD ip address.
This is days work with the GUI
Now my question is :
Is there a script that can easely modify the zonefiles to othe IP
adresses and increase the zonefile n# by 1 ?
Or is it makeable ?
And
A script that sets the IP addresses into the httpd.conf file from
62.58.18.131 to 195.*.*.* ?
Thanks for looking into it.
Bob

you mean to say the ip address block you have been assigned is bieng
moved, with a monday deadline? thats incredibly short notice, and if i
understand you correctly, all those domains will not be visible while
the dns update propogates(48 hours), unless you set the raq to use both
the old and new ip(not sure if this is possible on a raq).
if i were you i'd call your backbone provider and make sure this is
really at such a short deadline, todays wedensday, which gives just
enough time for a dns update if you do it all instantly, and i've never
encountered this situitation.
anyone else here able to shed some more light?
