Hi Yah,
Just finished installing the latest security patch to a RaQ3 - had a
customer move from the Cobalt onto one of our Win2000 machines (wanted to
use a SQL database) - so his old site and dns info was removed via the GUI
as normal. Logcheck then came through not long after with the following...
Nov 14 19:55:06 ns named[656]: master zone "xx.xxx.xxx.in-addr.arpa" (IN)
loaded (serial 2001111419)
Nov 14 19:55:06 ns named[656]: couldn't create pid file '/var/run/named.pid'
Nov 14 19:55:06 ns named[656]: Forwarding source address is [0.0.0.0].1035
Nov 14 19:55:06 ns named[656]: master zone "xxxxxxxxx.com" (IN) removed
Nov 14 19:55:06 ns named[656]: hint zone "" (IN) loaded (serial 0)
I hadn't noticed the '/var/run/named.pid' part before on removing sites...
Is it something to do with the security update?
Or just me not checking logs as carefully in the past?
Anything to be concerned about?
Regards from Auckland
