[cobalt-users] What does "BAD MAC ADDR TEST FAILED!" mean?

Hi,

While attempting to rebuild a RaQ 4r (model number R46 GH8 RIU) with
the OS Restore CD, I received the following message on the LCD during
boot...

BAD MAC ADDR
TEST FAILED!

This error occurs shortly after booting and halts the boot process
before presenting any interactive choices. Based on console output,
it boots as far as mounting the root file system off the NFS partition
before failing...

"raid1: raid set md1 active with 2 out of 2 mirrors

The CD is about a year old and I believe it predates the 4r. Its part
number is 960-RAQ401001U.

Someone posted on this subject in May of 2000, but no one provided a
satisfactory answer...

Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!
