Re: [cobalt-users] Qube 3 - How to stop spam?

Just how do you receive any email for anyone other than your domain/IP?
I would think that is impossible.

Is it that you don't actually look at the email and that all the spam you are getting is addressed to you???

These days tricks include sending email to a bad address and sending the list out from different addresses. When the email fails it is sent back to the sender (the list). This makes it look like it was addresses to a different person (it was) but came to you ( it did as you were listed as the sender). Other ways include sending the mail to a list as Bcc"'s, that way the list of names does not show up, just the original name in the To: line (this person is most likely bogus even if the address is valid).

Bottom line is that you should not be receiving any email that does not belong to you. You may not like what you are being sent, but it is most likely being sent to YOU!

There are some services you can run your email through to filter out spam. Others include blocking email in the GUI from people who continually send you email from the same address or domain. If you block a domain, i.e. aol.com or yahoo.com, you will be blocking many more people than just the spammer.
