I'm getting pretty annoyed with this thread.

Perhaps you should have done what the pros do when they choose a system to
meet their needs: *test* it. The cobalt web site has a demo which includes
an EXACT replica of the GUI.

And until you become a great server pro, you should refrain from bashing. I
suspect your raq problems have more to do with your lack of experience than
cobalt/sun's lack of support. You can't blame the raq maker for the flaws of
the administrator.
As for whether or not raq's are here to stay, AFAIK, Sun has no plans to
discontinue support for raqs. However, you can't expect a hardware /
software vendor to support a product forever. Raqs have a life cycle like
any other products, and as a competent administrator you should have plans
in place for future migration to newer products, and possibly other
platforms. That said, Sun is not a company that will abandon older product
lines until they have had long life cycles.
