RE: [cobalt-users] [Webmin] was Are Raq's here to stay? (opinions wanted

I think more worrying for Cobalt/Sun should be the fact that so many
competing products are coming out that they simply have no answer for. As a
company that started hosting using Cobalt's, it came as a breath of fresh
air to find alternatives to it. We have recently purchased Ensim
ServerXchange to go live in the new year, which allows us to drop a control
panel onto any Solaris or Linux box, lets us do Shared servers (virtual
servers) and dedicated servers. What room then for Cobalt boxes? We still
have them for customers that demand them, but at the end of the day, it's
ease of use for both us and the customer that is needed. Unless they inject
fresh ideas, it's going to be a product that is going to be aimed at an ever
decreasing target. They need to innovate. For example, in the Ensim
solution, we have a feature called Reseller Automation. This provides any
dedicated server customer with a full billing and accounting system, there
is nothing even on the horizon for Cobalt that would approach that.
