I just purchased the webapplience software from ensim so I could evaluate
it,
so far what I do not like is that it is based on RH 6.2 which will not load
on the
newer AMD processor machines. The installer will not work on a Duron or
Athelon
based processor which are just about all I am using now !! I will be
contacting them
on Monday to find out if it will work with any other version of RH like say
Oh 7.2 !!
I will keep you advised. Myself I have bought 8 Raq's in the last 6
months, all used, I like the
appliance Idea. I like the fact the power requirements are very low and that
no monitor is required.
What I did / do not like is that only 200 sites can be hosted per machine.
But I considered it a fair
tradeoff of simplicity vs # of sites. I LIKED the fact the I could call up
cobalt after I bought it and get
30 days support free, Now that does not work and have paid for support on
new machines
( well new to me anyway ) 3 times now. Once after having done an update and
having the DNS
just die !! We ended up doing an os restore and then reloading everything
( PAIN ! ) Add that to
the fact that raq4's still seem way overpriced and I see myself sticking to
the Raq2's and Raq3's for
a while longer.
