I take it that it is then nothing to worry about; indeed,
I *should* worry if it *could* log in as anonymous?

It's the active monitor checking to see that FTP is running. It also checks
other services including email, web, etc. Its frequency is controlled in
/etc/crontab (the program running is swatch).
