Another difference might be that while Cobalt apparently had a policy of
"fixing" things for x time after a model was dropped, or so I was told by
someone at Sun, it may be that Sun decided to drop that policy, as they
dropped the software warranty for new purchases.

And it remains to be seen if Sun will shaft you as they did Cobalt
customers.
