Hi John,

Everyone has their own preferences. None of the (default) installed text
editors are simple to operate for someone new to Unix. 'vi and 'pico' are
the default installed editors. There are other Linux editors that you could
install with little trouble.

An into book to Unix will touch base on the esoteric uses of either, or or
both of those editors. You should try them before deciding your allegiance;
then buy a more in-depth book.

Sorry. I know I didn't give the answer you wanted. I hope this helps a bit.

Cheers,
Glenn
