RE: [cobalt-users] Server Reboot Over and Over

When I run TAIL this is what I get, does this mean that the server is
failing cause of the ns1.citystoked.com. If it is I just went to the
Server DNS section in the Admin Administer Web Pages and setup another
DOMAIN called ns1.citystoked.com and gave it it's own ip .. Is this
wrong. ????

Someone please help, I am getting a lot of angry customers. THANKS!
I can tell you though that the server is definitely rebooting, cause the
time when it comes back to me is like SERVER RUNNINING 1 minute.

Hi,
These seems an unusual problem, but to check if your machine is indeed
rebooting, you can check uptime. Telnet/SSH into the machine, and then
type in
/usr/bin/uptime
It should respond with a line like this:
  9:40am up 214 days, 21:51, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00
Which is our Raq3, if where we have 214 days you have something like 5
mins or similar, then it has indeed rebooted.

Also, after finding uptime, do the following (You will need to be root,
so after telnet/ssh in as admin do "su -" [no quotes] and enter the
admin password again)
tail -f /var/log/messages

This will then start to display the messages file which may give you a
hint when the system reboots.

If not, then post what it lists in messages up until you loose
connection, as somebody here might have a clue.

Have you just installed any Cobalt Kernel updates by any chance????
