[cobalt-users] Restoring hosts file without telnet?

We just moved my RaQ2 to a new network location and in doing so its IP
address, and the address of the firewall in front of it, both changed.

After the switch I noticed how slow e-mail connections were , checked the
maillog and saw that the problem was that all SMTP connections to the RaQ2
are logged as coming from the IP address of the firewall. The RaQ was trying
to resolve the IP, I guess, and taking a lot of time to do it.

I edited the /etc/hosts file in Pico to add the entry in manually. I've done
this before without a problem. There was an entry in the hosts file for the
firewall's old IP and I edited that line to change the address to the new
firewall IP address. But this time, I think I may have put the firewall's
entry in with spaces, instead of a TAB between the IP address and the name
of the server.

The problem is, now I can't get back in with FTP or Telnet to fix it,
because (I think) telnet and FTP connections time out before I can log in.
In the case of Telnet, I get the initial welcome message, but no login
prompt. Then it times out after 60 seconds. FTP is the same. I can still
reach the admin GUI trhrough the browser, but I've tried deleting and
re-creating all DNS entries in the hopes that would edit out the bad line
oin the hosts file that I put there.

No luck.

Is there a way to force a new HOSTS file to be created (or restore one of
the old ones) using the browser interface or front panel console?

Thanks for your help.
