If I understand you correctly, you have a directory with various non-html files
(for example your pics directory), and you want to prevent people from seeing a
listing of those files when browsing to http://mydomain.com/pics?
One way of solving this is to put an empty index.htm file in the directory you
want to "protect". Either create an empty file on your PC and ftp it to the
server, or telnet/ssh to the server, and in the relevant directory type the
following:
touch index.htm
