As a quick sidenote to this (And probably OT too :)

If you get somebody to monitor your websites availability, or individual
sites, don't forget to account for those in your statistics. We use
Urchin and filter out requests from our monitoring servers so that
customers get a real representation of their hits rather than the number
of times the monitoring platform requested the page (once every 20 mins
in our case)
