RE: [cobalt-users] IMAGES load VERY slowly

Hi,

It loaded okay for me, though I am using BT home ADSL.

I had a brief look at you code and saw that the image rollovers are using
Macromedia Dreamweaver or Fireworks generated code. I've found it can be
advantageous to rewrite their roll-over stuff into simpler JavaScript rather
than their preload images array stuff...

Also if you write the preload, get the normal versions to load first and the
rollover bits to load after, making the page appear to load quicker.

Also, I'd whip out all the JavaScript if it's the same on several pages,
save it as rollover.js and replace it with a <script language=JavaScript"
src="rollover.js"></script> line. So subsequent pages don't have to wade
though the JavaScript again...

HTH.

Kind regards,
Liam DelaHunty

Subject: [cobalt-users] IMAGES load VERY slowly

I have a cobalt that has a number of site on it less than 20 and the images
are loading slower than death. Does anyone have any suggestions for me, the
box is on a fast connect and the traceroute times are VERY low but in a
browser it takes forever.

I've poked around a bit and am now looking for additional thoughts on the
reason for its slowness.
