What I did was to add a line into the aliases file
user1: user1,user2
This allowed the message to go to both the original recipient and also
copied to user2. Doing this showed up on the gui. Can I achieve this
without it appearing?

*c.o.p.y.i.n.g.* or "moving" the mail to the account #2 without it ever
remaining in account #1? There are ways of doing both but we need to be
very clear about what it is that you really want to see happen. Regards,
