[cobalt-users] Inherited Raq4 security issues.

I am not necessarily new in the linux and open source development world
however my new position now calls for major sys admin duties. We are a
company married to M$ and as a matter of fact our Raq4 is the only server
not running on the NT platform (I have enjoyed reading all the internal
email regarding the latest nimda contamination in our servers). I have been
with this company for only a few weeks and I I inherited this box when the
last developer was asked to leave the company on what I believe/hear not so
good of terms.

Network services has done the obvious change of admin passwords. I have
learned a lot about how to admin a server in these last few weeks (this list
has helped a lot) but I would like to hear the your opinion about what steps
I I could take to make sure my server is secure and that our last admin does
not have access to any security holes. In the past I was able to re-install
the OS and choose the configuration of my choice however it is not an option
due to the importance of the data on this server. I would appreciate any
input you might have in this topic or suggestions are welcome. Thank you
very much for facilitating the vast knowledge required to be a responsible
admin.
