The files won't get created if you make the change manually, and not
allow logins (end with /bin/badsh instead of /bin/bash).
Which "files" won't get created? Presumably the /home/sites/site4
directory already exists, since the original message talked about setting
the home dir to /home/sites/site4/web . I agree that the default shell
needs to be /bin/bash (this can also be set with the "chsh" command).
