Thanks for the reply, here's what I got.

When I run ps-auxwf|grep sendmail, I get:
root     31086  0.0  0.4  2520 1252 ?        S    06:27   0:00 sendmail:
accepting connections

so I assume that means that this is a PHP misconfiguration not sendmail,
I'll have a look in maillog and see if there's any details.

Do you know how to configure PHP correctly?
