It's not configured right.  Are you sure the PTR record has the IP listed 
"backwards"?  If your IP is 1.2.3.4, its PTR record should be:

4.3.2.1.in-addr.arpa. IN PTR example.com.

Also make sure your named.conf file has the correct zone name specified.
