I have used both.

PHPmyadmin is far more powerful. If you are the only person managing the DB
it will not make too much difference, but PHPmyadmin certainly has more
features.

If you intend to let your customers access the DB then PHPmyadmin is a must.
It can be configured to provide web access to specific databases.
