I jumped into a STEEP learning curve here a bit ago, and I'm wondering if
anyone out there could help me, on or off list.
I was playing with ipconfig on windows 2000 about a week ago, and ran an
[ipconfig /flushdns] for some stupid reason, and now my computer won't
resolve dns names or surf the web at all.
I can get email, icq, telnet, ftp, all that, but no dns... I've run
[ipconfig /registerdns], and it brings up only what's in my "host" file,
unless I open a browser, which is set to go to google, and then it also
shows a bunch of google's name servers... I can't figure this one out, and
I've been serching on my other computer for about a week...
It doesn't matter if I'm running through the cube, which is my
NAT/firewall/dhcp server, or if I'm directly connected to my cable modem, I
can't seem to get my dns cache to reregister correctly...
Does anybody have a clue, or starting point I could go on?
TIA
Shawn Crull
