I've heard, Jonothon, that we in America are all only three contacts
away from knowing everyone else in America.

While I don't know how true that is, I've found out yesterday (Tuesday),
that I'm three people away from a young man who worked on the 101st
floor (building unknown). Immediately after the first airplane hit he
called his wife (whether with cell or office telehone unknown) to let
her know that there was some kind of problem in the building and that he
was evacuating immediately.

As you probably know, if in fact he was in the first building hit, then
he was above the point of impact and above the fire already raging.

As of 9 pm he had still not been heard of again.

I've also discovered I'm two people away from two young golfing
acquaintances of a gentleman I met through this list.

I'm sure there will be many more; specifically there were a lot of
Internet people both in the WTC and in the surrounding buildings, many
of which have also been either destroyed or severely damaged.

I have friends (a family of four, an Orange County deputy sherrif, his
wife, and their children, who are in New York on a late summer vacation,
and who have not yet been able to send out word of their safety to any
of us who know them.

I was thinking yesterday morning, as I was literally pounding on the
wall in utter helplessness, that in fact God is completelly in control;
He knows what's happening, and why.

I'm happy to hear we have pretty good information pinning down who's
responsible, and that President Bush (whom I fully stand behind in this
incident) has called for swift, sure justice.

I hope you'll join me and others in prayer for all of those affected.
