RE: [cobalt-users] Maximum Sites Allowed for RaQ 3 or 4

We put allmost 400 sites on one of our servers, but the server became
unstable so we backed it down to below 200. The cpu and memory were not
even being taxed by the sites.

The recommended number of sites for the RaQ 4 is about 200. But
that depends on the traffic, complexity, etc of the sites.

I would not be surprised if the RaQ 4 can handle 500 low
traffic sites with relative ease, but 1000 might be pushing it.

200 on the RaQ, but there is a way around this. One of the config
scripts has to be edited - there something on the list not that long
ago (May - Aug 2001). We have some 50 domains that don't feature in
the GUI at all, but one has to add a seperate httpd.conf file, and
there are some sendmail config changes required as well.

Take a look at http://mail-archive.com, search for "cobalt", select
the user list and then search for maximum sites.
