RackShack probably doesn't have anything to do with either
of these problems. If you read the root kit checkers documentation
I believe you'll find an explanation regarding portsentry and the
warning you are seeing and while I've long forgot (old age :-) what
that kernel error means, getting rid of it is as easy as adding the
following line to your servers conf.modules file:

	alias char-major-X off

Replacing X with the applicable char-major number, of
course.

I don't work for Rackshack, don't much care about Rackshack
either. Don't even know if our Cobalt's have a /etc/conf.modules
file - never bothered to look. Nor is this message intended just or
specifically for you. But I just hate seeing this kind of thing
posted to public lists. From now on your post on Rackshack is going
to be archived on the Internet and well, they more than likely
have no responsibility whatsoever for the "problems" you posted in
your message. They gave you the keys to a server. It's up to you to
learn how to drive it. At the very least doing a bit of research
before you archive, for ever, what may very well be an invalid
complaint that could very possibly harm what may very well be a fine
company is, at least in my opinion, in order.

Sometimes one has to consider the big picture.

	Peace be with you,
