I am sorry that I can't be more specific, but there is an open source
project that takes stats from the xferlog, maillog and access log (ftp, mail
and http logs respectively) and reports it as total bandwidth in and out,
very similar to what Cobalt does on their RAQ3 and up products.  I am sure
you could write a perl/php script to do it, wish I had the time to do it.
It would be a good little program.  Look on sourceforge, I think that is
where I found it.  I did a few quick searches and couldn't find anything,
one day I will write this stuff down or better  yet bookmark for once things
that I find useful.
