DW/UD Site Settings: Remote Info / Host Directory - set to ../../web

If you have an assigned unique IP for the site, just reference that IP in
DW.
If the site uses a shared IP, use the shared I/P as the FTP address , but
use the username and password you created for the Virtual site. If you set
Host Directory to ../../web (as above) you will connect to the public web
directory of the virtual site. You WILL NOT be able to see the results of
your upload via a web browser until the DNS propagates. This is annoying
and we have not found a way around it. We publish to a 'known' address for
testing, or temporarily use an actual IP that we hold in reserve for testing
purposes.
BTW, DreamWeaver and UltraDev lose their minds quite often (their FTP leaves
a bit to be desired). We always keep CuteFTP in reserve for when they get
finicky.
