Erm,

You can just run the following at the command line which will pre-empt
shutdown and do it itself (ie. not through the web interface).

/sbin/shutdown +30m System is being shutdown in 30 minutes

The +30m denotes how many minutes it will wait before actually starting the
shutdown. So for an hour it would be

/sbin/shutdown +60m System being shutdown in one hour.
