The interesting thing is that the pkg was posted to the site on the
27th...I just happened to see it. I got the same announcent you did on
the 28th.
I guess my big puzzle is why is Sun now announcing things a day after the
release?
Of course the second problem is that many folks performed their own work
around to the problem prior to the release...and now a lot of us are
wondering whether or not to install the pkg.
Might be a tad helpful if the Sun folk either answered the questions posed
about the situation named above...or heavens forbid had a description of
what's in the pkg to allow those of us who performed a "pre-authorized
Cobal Release" problem solving to either undo what was done, or ignore the
pkg.
Seems to me that if Sun had issued the pkg in a timely manner, a lot of
this could have been avoided.
This one isn't as brain-dead as the Chili-Soft/Apache 'issue', but it sure
gets added to list of
Do I fix the problem now, cause Sun isn't,
Or do I wait for Sun to fix it,
and hope the fix ain't broke
and wait for the early adopters to be the guinnea pigs
Sorry for the rant
