Paul,
I just finished setting mine up today, so I may be way off base. I don't
know if your error message has anything at all to do with what I'm about to
tell but I might as tell try to help with what I do know about the basic
set-up.
If your machine is set-up as www.yourdomain.com, make sure your DNS is set
up as follows:
A record: yourdomain.com > x.x.x.x
A record: www.yourdomain.com > x.x.x.x
MX record: high priority mail server on www.yourdomain.com
then on your virtual site settings, under web aliases, add
www.yourdomain.com, yourdomain.com
under mail aliases, add
yourdomain.com
Again, I could be wrong, but this is how Cobalt says to do it. I do mine
slightly different, on the MX record, I use mail.mydomain.com...then add an
A record for mail.mydomain.com > x.x.x.x, and under virtual site settings
make the mail aliases mydomain.com, mail.mydomain.com.
Either way, do this and user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx or alias@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx should
work.
Hope this helps,
Brandon
