So you can get to the GUI, at least?
Try going to http://pkg.nl.cobalt.com and downloading the SSH 
package. FTP this to your machine as admin, put it in /home/packages.
Then go to the GUI Maintenance-->Install Software. You should see the 
SSH package listed up at the top and it should already be 'checked', 
ready to install.
Hit the Install This .pkg Package button and cross your fingers... 
maybe it will work since you're not "making changes".
