On a RaQ4i I had such a problem after attempting to install urchin's linux
version, as opposed to their cobalt raq version. In doing that I had to
change the LogFormat directives. I guess I must've changed them wrong,
because my access log soon started to fill with lines that only contained
a single word: 'combined'. I made a backup copy of the log. Then, I went
into the log file and manually deleted all of those lines using vi. Then I saved
it and had my boss check the site stats the next day and we saw that they
were rotating again.
